Our water heater started leaking this past Saturday. After calling a handful of other plumbers who either didn't service our area or wouldn't give a general estimate over the phone, I contacted St. Croix Plumbing. Todd (one of the owners) explained our options and various high-level estimates of each. While he was available to come out that day, we opted to wait until Monday in order to save cost. I did call a few others but decided on St. Croix Plumbing. Wait a great decision that was! As agreed upon, Todd contacted me with a firm estimate first thing Monday morning and was at our home a few hours later. While here, he was very courteous, thorough and patient when answering questions. His general estimate was dead-on and, from what I can tell, was very fair. By far the best plumbing and heating contractors I've ever used! I'm a general contractor in the metro area and have used these guys exclusively for all my jobs for the past two years. They have never let me down. They can literally do it all from huge commercial jobs to the most simple service call. Ok with "general" plumbing on our kitchen sink & disposal replacement.

However, they had to sub-contracted the drain work & a seperate person came out along with a seperate (rather expensive) invoice for what seemed like a small amount of work. Almost $200 for about 25 minutes of work?? I would likely try another company next time.

Todd from St. Croix Plumbing showed up on-time and immediately diagnosed the source of the sewage odor to be emanating from the toilet in the basement bathroom. The previous owner of our home installed the toilet without properly fastening the base of the toilet to the floor.

This repair was being covered under a home warranty policy and Todd gladly worked witht eh warranty company to provide an estimate over the phone at their request. Todd quickly and professionally installed a new flange and was seal and tightened the base to the ground to prevent the sewage odor from ever coming back. In addition, he installed new guts in the toilet since they were 30 years old and not working properly.

Todd and I had a great conversation during the work and he was very informative and explained what he was doing and why. He also taught me a bit about some small plumbing repairs he noticed I could do cheaply on my own.

Lastly, Todd also followed up that night via text/phone to answer some questions I was having about to caulk a certain area of the bathroom. Excellent communication!

I'd recommend these guys to anyone and will use them in the future.

He was able to gain access to the valve within minimal damage to the cabinet wall behind it, and did a great job cleaning up behind him. Great! I would recommend Todd in a heartbeat and already have! He was punctual --even early for both jobs we had him do. He got us in right away for the larger job so we would not be held up on a basement remodeling project.

He replaced all the hot and cold water pipes as far as he could without going through any walls. The water is running so much better and I am not afraid of leaks happening in the future. He even replaced the faucet for the old laundry tub downstairs and put ina new fixture for the outside water that was not specifically in the bid. I felt like he treated this as if it was his house and what he would want done. The bid was for 2 and 1/2 to 3 days and he got it done in 2 shorter days. He charged us according to time so it was more than $1,000LESS than he quoted.

We have quite a few house projects in the past couple years and I truly appreciated the professionalism of Todd.

He arrived on time, very professionally dressed, and was friendly and ready to get to work. He kept the area clean while he worked, and protected the floor with a heavy drip cloth to prevent damage. He was very open about a problem with the faucet that could not be 100% repaired. He was kind enough to outline the estimated costs of further repairs i wanted to do the bathroom, and helped me assess whether some changes were actually necessary so I could manage down the costs. He was rather expensive, but having not hired similar contractors in the past, my opinion is hardly qualified ($125/hr and $39 travel). In the end, the cost seemed relatively small compared to the peace of mind because he addressed all my questions and concerns thoroughly.

Todd gave me a quote over the phone which was in line with the prices we saw online. He ordered the hot water heater I thought we needed, but when he came to deliver, we discovered I misread the tag on the old one and we didn't need as large a model as we thought. Todd saved us close to $800 by canceling the original order and calling the company and arranging for a smaller model. He also replaced some pipes and gas lines which weren't up to code and left the basement cleaner than when he came. We are planning a kitchen remodel next summer and plan to call him again!

As always you exceeded our expectations and we thank you tremendously for all the time you have for our family's home and the exceptional service you provide.

Todd came to our house because of a seriously water heater. Again it was on a weekend. Upon inspection of the water heater. Todd gave us the information we dreaded. We needed a new water heater. Thankfully we have two in our house so Todd was able to disable and drain the broken one and allow us to run off of the other temporarily.

Todd told us what we needed for a water heater and we went and purchased it. The following Monday. Todd came back out to our house and installed the water heater but went above and beyond by re-routing our hoses and pipes to clean up the cluster our home builder left us with.

Our family has had our share of plumbers throughout the years but once we found Todd, we haven't had anyone else out to our home.
